We’re introducing one of the biggest changes to our book and album line-up in years. Today’s email is to tell you all about it. Our next will be to celebrate with two special offers! For years we’ve offered “free” services with all our albums — free colour correction, free album design, free personal titles, cover motifs and so on. Then, last year, we began experimenting with “unbundling” those services. In other words setting prices for “just the album”, with extra charges for the services if you wanted them. That’s proved so popular To View More >>

Our new Designer Album Box is the perfect way to present your albums. Order it as an optional extra in place of our standard presentation boxes and/or bags. Here are the details: How do I order? On the second page of the album set-up menu in Workspace you'll be asked how you want to present the album. Select Designer Album Box and the material colour. You can order the box plain or with an embossing — either Companion embossing (same as on the album) or Studio embossing.  What materials and colours are available? Our new boxes are available To View More >>

We love it when one of our staff members gets an album made for themselves. We spend most of our time creating handmade products for photographers, but we like to walk the talk when it comes to printing our photos. Maddy works in the Queensberry bindery and she's let us share her Portrait Album with you. Take a look.  "I made my own scrapbook style photo albums when I was younger and printed photos to frame. This is the second Queensberry album I've made.  "I wanted to make a gift for my partner, Simba, to celebrate the adventures we’ve had together so far, including a To View More >>

In the past, Queensberry's online designer has never had a cover proofing function and we’re excited to announce that you can now proof plain, embossed, photo front and wrap-around covers. You will be able to see a preview in the designer, where you can adjust photos, change the embossing text and see what the cover will look like with your album. Your clients too will be able to see the cover using Queensberry’s fully integrated album proofing. We will be releasing cover motifs, designable and custom canvas covers in the New Year. To see how it works watch the short video below. Thanks,  To View More >>

How do you design a Queensberry album? Well, we can design it for you, or you can do it yourself using third party software like Fundy or SmartAlbums, our desktop application Photojunction, or the Workspace Album Designer. But — let's be frank — until now the Workspace design feature has been just a little underpowered! We've been working hard to change that, however, and we reckon Workspace Album Designer is  turning into a powerful and intuitive program that for many people could just be their best choice. Workspace Album Proofing takes the hassle out of communicating with your clients about their album design.  It's a transparent and intuitive way for them to communicate their requests for changes and, when they're ready, to approve the design so you can confirm their album order.  New functionality and a simplified interface make Workspace a great solution for managing your Queensberry album designs. And if you're not using Workspace for image hosting and sales you won't need a paid plan to use it. Updates to Comments: Comments are organised To View More >>

Following on from last week's post, here are a few more album design tips. For all you photographers designing your own.  Let them breathe… We touched on cropping last time, but it's worth repeating! Sure photo-bombing is fun, but generally we like the core elements of an image to have a nice amount of breathing space to the edge of the page, or image "frame". In fact think of it exactly like framing a picture: it gives the subject a sense of intent and importance. Jamming things up against the image edge often looks awkward. But "breathing To View More >>
